Just 7 minutes drive take you into the twin towns of Lynton and Lynmouth where you can take a trip on the dramatic Cliff Railway or see a film in the 58 seater Cinema. There is an extensive range of cafes, takeaways and restaurants in both towns. 

 

A short drive further are the small rocky hidden beaches of Lee Bay, Woody Bay and Heddon Mouth – all well worth a visit. The 3 mile sandy beach at Woolacombe is approx 45 minutes drive but well worth a visit. For serious walkers there is the South West Coast Path which is a stunning and dramatic path to follow.  

 

The Brendon Valley set alongside the East Lyn River is close by and where R D Blackmore’s book Lorna Doone was set amongst the small villages of Rockford, Brendon, Malmsmead and Oare. There are many walks from these villages either out onto the moorland of Brendon Common or along the East Lyn River. Watersmeet with its various dramatics paths leading along the rivers or up into the woods is closely. Refreshments can be found at the NT ‘Watersmeet cafe’. For those wanting to rest their weary legs how about a stream train ride at Woody Bay Station.  Finally, the Exmoor towns of Dulverton, Porlock, Porlock Weir and Dunster are all within an easy drive and well worth visiting.
